Our Jobs
We met in the office!
Jace and I both began working for Classified Ventures in the spring of 2001. Jace worked for
Cars.com and I work for Apartments.com.
Our mutual, married friends Colleen and Kevin also both worked for Classified Ventures. Colleen brought Jace to my attention,
and Kevin told Jace about me, but it wasn't until the company Christmas party at the end of 2002 that we had our first real
conversation. Jace walked me home from Burton Place, a bar on Wells Street in Old Town. The walk to my apartment in Old Town
was a short one, but we decided to get to know one another better. We set a date to go to church together Sunday morning at Park
Community Church in Lincoln Park. Park is our church home today.
I still work for Apartments.com in the Product Development group. My responsibilities allow me to manage the features of the
advertising packages that we sell to apartment communities and the functionality of the site for prospective renters.
Jace has moved on to Orbitz.com. He works in their technology department,
overseeing a team of project managers.
While we miss the convenience of working in the same office building, both our current companies are located within 2
blocks of the Sears Tower, so Jace can still drop off fresh flowers at my desk from time to time.
